There are several beautiful historical and royal monuments like Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle) Pena (Palace of the Feather), Palácio da Vila (Palace of the Village),or private palaces with extraordinary beautiful gardens like Monserrate or Regaleira and striking Convents like Capuchos or Peninha that turned public.

There are also many small but interesting museums dedicated to different subjects like Natural History, Archeology, Toys, Contemporary Art, Science etc.

Eating

The Sintra region offers a rich and varied gastronomic experience at very affordable prices. Fish and sea food in abundance in all different types of restaurants along the coast.

 

In Almoçageme or at a walking distance there are many restaurants, and we will be happy to help you choose.

 

Every weekend, there is a wonderfull street market where all local farmers come to sell their products.

 

One of the finest and oldest european wines, already being send to Rome in the 1st century, the Vinho de Colares, is produced nearby and some grown on our own land of Quinta da Faianca.
